The Introduction

        4/18/11  Well this is my 1st attempt at a blog. I have a great deal of information regarding radon gas and Ill get to all of it over some time. My name is Rick Galarneau and I am the owner of MassRadon and also Aaron Associates. Aaron Associates is the part of my company the performs real estate inspections, radon testing, and well water testing. I have been performing pre purchase home inspections and commercial property inspections for over 15 years. My construction background was very helpful in opening Aaron Associates. My business background with Vincent Enterprises as Operations Director helped me with the business end of things.
         I grew up in West Springfield, served a stint in the US Navy during the Viet Nam years, attended College did a few different things in my life that I am greatful for and have had many wonderful experiences.
My  wife Maryanne and I like to travel and we particularly enjoy Aruba. I ride a Harley Davidson, play bass guitar, and we enjoy weekends in our boat. Well I guess thats enough about me.
        
Mass Radon was started as a spinoff of Aaron Associates about 7 years ago. I was routinely performing radon tests for my customers and quickly realized there was no local radon professional to refer them to. After doing some market research on the feasibility of opening a radon mitigation division, I attended the EPA sanctioned "Radon School" in Albany NY. I was instructed in many aspects  of radon including the health issues, testing, system design, and proper installation of a radon system. I took the certification exam and became a Residential Radon  Mitigation Specialist.
